2.10 Version is out

Well first of all I want to thank Ming for posting a post of my DPS Calculator on his well known to rogues blog website. You can view the post at:
http://www.worldofming.com/?p=420

The 2.10 doesn't have much new content, but here it is:
Tweaked the critical strike from agility. (previously gave more crit per agility point for very high agility stats).
Hit% is now modified with decimals. (Previously only counted as whole values (intergers instead of floating points)).
Netherblade 2 and 4 set bonus.
Deathmantle 2 set bonus.

Removed a few mirrors that changed the passwords because I don't check the emails associated to those mirrors.

Calculator Still doesnt have The Rogue Assassination set yet. Given that it throws a 6second Haste buff at 2 piece only this would be great to see added in.

Thanks, i'll consider the rare set bonuses next time i modify the calculator. I havn't been checking much about different gear there is to get outside Karazhan/Gruul/Doom as I barelly ahve time myself to run 1-2 5 men in a week.

is it possible to download this as a stand alone?

ForeShadow said...

No it is not possible to download this as a stand alone.

For the very reason of not being modified and posted up on another website since it is programmed in javascript, which the script runs on your computer instead of online. This means that you can however open the page and disconnect yourself from the internet and it will still work.

Is Shiv normalised to 2.4 for sword and 1.7 for dagger. Or is that wrong?
If it is normalised depending on which weapon type you use then the calculator is currently neglecting the fact.
Thanks.

Could you add enemy armor value into the calculations at some point? Nice calculator btw.

I tested shiv before uploading the latest version of my calculator and noticed that it is not normalized to 1.7 or 2.4. I tested with a 1H mace 2.00 speed I bought in SW near the cathedral. I'll check if I can find my results of the test.

Hi, great calc. Thanks for putting the work into this. One thing you may want to consider adding in the future is weapon skill from items and racial abilities.

I am human with latro's shifting sword so my sword skill is +19.

Weapon skill was included into the DPS calculator before the path that nerfed it. To view your extra crit value on higher level mobs, view the help, on the 3rd popup, theres information stating:
At level 70: 3.9skill gives 2.21 Crit Rating.

Basically 39 skills gives you 1%crit against mobs of higher level.

if you could make your program grab profile out of armory and/or save the settings it would be great

Does your calc currently add the bonus damage from Master of Subtlety for Ambush when it is used as the opener? I was doing a test with an Ambush opener (3/3 imp amb) followed by a Cold Blood Backstab, and this is what i got in the log...

Ambush & Seal Fate 2111
Master of Subtlety Start 6
Backstab Cold Blood 2016

The toolip for MoS says 'Attacks made -while- stealthed and for 6 seconds after breaking...'

I used 120 energy with Vigor and NS bonus so this could all occur in Time 0.

Thanks :)

Bummrusha:

Master of Subtlety is working correctly. Put only 1 talent in CB, and necessary for the 120 energy at start and it whows the dmg change right after the ambush.

Without MoSub.
0 Ambush 1067
0 Backstab Cold Blood 1224

With MoSub.
0 Ambush 1174
0 Backstab Cold Blood 1346

Getting information off the blizzard website would make my calculator necessary to access the Internet. Poeple who scan to see if any communication is done with the internet might view it as a keylogger. And I want it to be possible to be used if you disconnect of the Internet.

And I don't know if Javascript can get information such as that on the blizzard armory. I know other scripting languages that can.

i contacted a creator of wow armory signature generator, maybe he could give you some tips,

and about you wanting to use it offline, u can always have 2 coppies, one that doesnt support armory and one that does, ty for reading

I love this, thanks a million.

Any chance, any at all you would add bookmarkable links?

I would love to be able to just bookmark my results and have an easy way to send links..

again, thanks for some aweomse work

I can always add another URL box that is for the profile link of the armory. I need to talk to your contact if you can post it or send me an email to contact him.

The way I keep my data is with mozilla/firefox, you can save the form information so each time you relog on the website the information can be filled out automatically. If its only the results you want to keep, you can do an easy copy paste infor EXCEL or any other spreadsheet program.

All values are zero´d when i enter the site, are you saying i should bookmark them?

testing .. :)

ForeShadow said...

If you use Mozilla (forefox is similar):
in the Tools menu, go in Form Manager, then click Save Form Info. Then the next time you enter the site you go in the Tools menu, go in Form Manager, then click Fill in Form. All your talents and abilities get set back to what you had when you saved it.

Keen simulator. Do you have a timeframe for updating the behavior of swordspec to match the patch?

Also, with regards to weaponskill, doesn't it still figure into your chance to hit and the enemies chances to parry, dodge and block? That, potentially, makes it equivelent to +0.16% chance to hit (+0.12% of which isn't capped) per point? Or is this not actually the case?

when can we expect an update for a new patch?

glancing blow changed from 40 to 25 amiright? is this factored in yet?

ForeShadow said...

Grymor, your living in the past...
Weapon skill was changed for expansion to become extra crit on higher level mobs. It no longer affects glancing blows or adds hit rating or diminishing the opponents stats.

Glancing blows were removed from this calculator when the skills to weapons have changed.

Adding 10 agility produces less total DPS increase than adding just 10AP. That HAS to be wrong.

ForeShadow said...

I don't know what you did but when I test my AEP, its usually around (at work, don't have the exact numbers):
AP = 0.6Agi
HR = 0.7Agi
CR = 0.8Agi

Are you shure you removed the extra 10AP when you added the Agi ?

Anonymous said...

Oooh, I get it - when adding 10agi I need to manually bump AP by 10 at the same time. Stupid me. Sorry for the noise.

Great calculator!

Would it be possible to have an iterated simulation? I'd like to be able see not just the mean dps, but the distribution over many fights.
